What You Need to Know:

What does VLT mean?

VLT stands for Visible Light Transmission.

It refers to the percentage of visible light that can pass through the window after the film is installed.

In simple terms:

  • Higher VLT = brighter, clearer window

  • Lower VLT = darker window and more glare reduction

For example:

  • 35% VLT means about 35% of visible light still comes through the glass

  • 20% VLT means the window will appear noticeably darker

  • 5% VLT means the film is very dark and offers strong glare and light control

VLT does not directly tell you how much heat is blocked. It only describes how light the window will appear.
